Are you looking for a beauty center? BlinC Lash & Brow Studio in Charlotte, NC is the best choice. We offer a wide range of beauty treatments performed by a licensed and certified beautician.
Classic Eyelash extensions involve applying a single synthetic lash extension to one natural lash, creating a natural, elegant and refined look that enhances length and fullness without appearing overly dramatic. This one to one application method results in a lightweight and comfortable feel, making classic lash extensions a suitable and low maintenance choice for everyday wear. This technique offers a simple mascara-like finish, making it a great option for those new to eyelash extensions.
A certified and experienced lash tech will bond one individual extension to one of your own natural lashes using a specialized adhesive. The process takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to complete. Here at BlinC Lash & Brow Studio we use Xtreme Brand eyelash extensions and adhesive. Xtreme is one of the leading eyelash extension and adhesive suppliers in the industry.
Eyelash Extensions come in various lengths, thicknesses, and curls. We use that variety to create not only inherently natural look but also to create customized looks like “cat eye”, “doll eye”, “wispy eye”. When you meet with your lash tech you can discuss your preferences and together what “lash look” works best for you.
Hybrid eyelash extensions are a balanced blend of classic and volume techniques, combining individual extensions with volume fans, offering a middle ground between a natural and a dramatic, texturized, customized look.
Maintenance
Unlike classic extensions, volume eyelash extensions are all about the drama and glam. Volume lashes involves applying multiple, thin, fanned out extensions to a single natural lash, creating a more dramatic and voluminous effect. This technique creates a much fuller and denser lash line by using multiple thin extensions per natural lash. This is ideal for those who want a very bold, glamorous effect.
Discontinue using waterproof mascara or eyeliner:
Waterproof mascara and eyeliner creates a barrier between the adhesive and your natural lash. Daily use of these products can build up over time to the point where even when washed off an invisible barrier can still be present. It is HIGHLY recommended that you discontinue use of these products 3-5 days before your eyelash extension appointment and that you wash them multiple times over that period to ensure all traces of the product (s) have been removed. Failure to do so can result in the premature shedding of your eyelash extensions.
Discontinue use of any eye serums:
Some lash serums contain oil and hydrating/conditioning ingredients. This creates a barrier between your natural lash and the adhesive. Failure to discontinue can result in the premature shedding of your lash extensions.
Arrive to your appointment with clean lashes:
As part of our services BlinC Lash & Brow ALWAYS cleanses your lashes prior to any lash service. However we cannot guarantee the results or retention of your lashes if you arrive to your appointment with makeup on your lid or eyelashes.
Avoid caffeine or energy drinks prior to service:
It is important that your eyes remain calm during your appointment. Jumpy and fluttery eyes slows down the lash tech and makes it difficult to place and position the eyelash extension properly to your natural lash. Improper connection can lead to premature loss of eyelash extensions.
Caring for eyelash extensions is crucial for keeping them looking full and fluffy and for maintaining the health of your natural lashes. The proper routine involves protecting the adhesive, practicing gentle hygiene, and avoiding certain products and habits.
Immediate Aftercare (24-48 hours)
The first 2 days after your appointment are the most important for ensuring the adhesive cures correctly.
Keep lashes dry:
Avoid all water, steam, and excessive moisture. This means no showering, swimming, or hot yoga during this crucial period.
Stay away from heat:
Stay clear of steamy showers, saunas, and intense heal, which can compromise the adhesive bond and even straiten your extensions.
Avoid all eye products:
Do not wear any eye make-up or use oil-based face products near your eyes, as they can interfere with the adhesive.
Daily Maintenance:
Once the 48 hour period has passed, you should begin a consistent routine.
Cleanse your lashes:
This can not be stressed enough….. Using a lash-specific, oil free, foaming cleanser, gently wash your lashes every day. This removes dirt, oil and makeup residue that can break down the adhesive and lead to infections.
Lash cleanser is available for purchase at BlinC Lash & Brow Studio
Brush them daily:
Use a clean, soft mascara wand (spoolie) to gently brush your lashes. This keeps them separated and helps them maintain their shape.
You will be provided with 2 mascara wands to take take home with you with any initial set.
They are also available upon request when you come for a fill in appointment.
Use oil free products:
Oil breaks down the adhesive and causes lashes to shed prematurely. Continue to use only oil free make up removers, cleansers, and eye creams.
Be gentle:
When washing your face or removing makeup, be careful around your eyes.
Avoid mascara and curlers:
The extensions already provide length, depth, and curl so mascara is not needed.
Lash curlers can break, bend, melt or clump the eyelash extensions together so it is definitely not necessary or recommended.
Avoid waterproof mascara or eyeliner:
Waterproof mascara and eyeliner creates a barrier between the adhesive and your natural lash.
Daily use of these products can build up over time to the point where even when washed off an invisible barrier can still be present. It is HIGHLY recommended that you discontinue use of these products 3-5 days before your eyelash extension appointment and that you wash them multiple times over that period to ensure all traces of the product (s) have been removed.
Failure to do so can result in the premature shedding of your eyelash extensions.
Book regular fills:
Lash extensions shed with your natural lashes and over time adhesive naturally breaks down.
To keep your set looking full, neat and fresh, schedule a fill appointment every 2-3 weeks.
A lash lift is a semi-permanent treatment designed to enhance and uplift your natural lashes, giving them a more curled and voluminous appearance. This look is achieved by curling the natural lash from the base to the tip so the full length is visible. This popular alternative to traditional eyelash extensions is a great semi-permanent solution for clients looking for a low maintenance way to enhance their lashes with lasting results. The service takes about 1 hour for a lash lift and up to 1.5 hours for a lash tint. The curl will last anywhere from 6-8 weeks with proper maintenance.
Lash preparation:
A qualified, experienced and licensed esthetician will start by thoroughly cleansing and assessing your lashes. Once your lashes are assessed your lash tech will choose the appropriate silicone rod size to apply to your lash lid. This is determined by the curl you want and the overall length of your natural lashes. Your lashes are then carefully combed and placed over the rod and attached with a water soluble adhesive.
Lifting Process:
A lifting solution is applied to the lashes to mold them into the new curl shape. This step can take anywhere from 4-8 minutes. The length of processing time necessary will be determined by your lash tech.
Setting Process:
After removing the lifting solution, a setting solution is applied to the lashes. This step neutralizes the lifting solution and locks the lashes into their new curl pattern. Expect for this step to take 4-5 minutes and will be determined by your lash tech.
Lash Bath:
Your lash tech will give your lashes another thorough cleaning with a mild cleanser and rinse to remove all traces of solution. This step insures your lashes don’t continue to “process’.
(Optional Lash Tint):
A plant based dye specifically formulated for eyelashes is carefully applied to top and bottom lashes from root to tip. Total processing time can take up to 10 minutes depending on how long it takes for the dyes to penetrate and set into your lashes.
Nourishing Treatment:
The final step is the application of a nourishing conditioner to the lashes. Nourishing the lashes is essential after this process to rehydrate the lashes.
Limitations:
This service may not be the best choice for clients who have very short or sparse lashes. Lashes need to be at least 4mm to achieve a lash lift. For those clients a lash serum may be a more realistic option.
Immediate Aftercare (24 hours)
Keep lashes dry:
For the first 24 hours, avoid contact with water , including washing your face, swimming, using steam rooms, hot showers, saunas or standing too close to steamy environments. The lashes are still setting and exposure to these environments could cause the lashes to lose shape.
Avoid applying eye make up and oil based products:
The lashes are still setting and products like mascara , cleansers, make up removers and eye creams can disrupt the process.
Please sleep on your back or side for 24 hours:
Avoid anything that will smoosh your lashes like massages. Doing so can change the shape of your lashes.
Resume Gentle Cleansing:
Use a gentle cleanser to cleanse the lashes. BlinC Lash & Brow Studio has a gentle cleanser suitable for Lash Lifts available for purchase.
Moisturize and nourish lashes:
Every day or every other day apply a nourishing serum to your lashes. Your lashes have gone through a chemical process. As a result, they are drier. Incorporating a lash conditioner into your routine promotes lash rehydration, health and can contribute to the longevity of the lift. BlinC Lash & Brow Studio has Elleebana Elleeplex Advanced After Care Formula available for purchase.
Avoid waterproof mascara and eyeliner:
Waterproof products can dehydrate the lash which may result in the premature straitening of the lashes.
Wait 8-10 weeks before getting another lift:
Some places will allow you to reprocess as early as 6 weeks but based on my personal experience in this industry, I recommend waiting at least 8 weeks. The reason why is to avoid double processing. Double processing can lead to damage and crinkly lashes and that defeats the benefits of the service.
Eyelash Tinting is a service that uses a semi-permanent dye to darken and define natural eyelashes, making them appear fuller and more prominent. The treatment results in a look similar to wearing mascara. Results last three to six weeks depending on your lash growth cycle and aftercare.
Avoid water, steam, sweat and heavy eye makeup for the first 24 hours to help the tint set properly.
Eyebrow Tinting is a service that uses a semi-permanent dye to color and define eyebrow hairs and if desired, stain the skin, creating a fuller more defined brow. The color is customized based on your natural brow hair color and the overall look you want to achieve.
Anyone wanting to have fuller, thicker looking eyebrow without having to fill them in with makeup daily.
During an eyebrow tint a semi-permanent dye is placed on the hairs as well as the skin, resulting in color on both. The color on the hairs will last around three to four weeks depending on the growth cycle of your brow hairs. The stain on the skin can last up to seven days.
Facial Waxing is a cosmetic service that temporarily removes unwanted hair with wax. At BlinC Lash & Brow Studios we use a high quality hard wax to perform this service. We can wax eyebrows, upper lip, chin , cheeks and neck.
Longer lasting results than other hair removal methods like shaving.
Facial waxing is a perfect solution to avoid thick hair regrowth. Over time and repeated waxing, the hair that regrows can become finer, take longer to grow back or stop growing altogether.
